All of us are witnesses to the children and families suffering in war-torn and poverty-stricken regions.

When we scroll through our social media, we are constantly flooded by photos of starving children…

Of children covered in the dust of the rubble…

Of infants with indescribable, gut-wrenching injuries…

Of lamenting men and women who continue to implore God to ease their pain.

We watch numbly as the death tolls rise each day— and although we like and share these videos, we find that we are a passive audience, incapable of providing them with any sort of relief.

But are we?

Incapable, I mean?

Do we not have a few dollars to spare for all these infants and children?

Our team is on the ground in many war-torn and poverty-stricken regions, able to act quickly and deliver aid where it’s needed the most.

For example, over the past year, Israel has both bombed and blocked aid trucks entering Gaza. Despite that, some of the aid has reached the residents—however scarce.

This experience has taught us that timely delivery of critical aid is essential. If there is ANY short period of relief, we need to make sure our aid gets there as fast as possible.

Two—you’re in a camp for displaced people. People say it’s safe here, but you’ve learned that’s not always true. For food, you sometimes have to eat what animals eat…or nothing at all. You look for clean water, but everyone tells you there hasn’t been any for days, so you drink water that’s not clear. Then, a loud boom from a bomb makes you jump. You know it means you’ll have to pack up and leave again, searching for a safer place.

These are scenarios faced by people in different parts of the world…but God is not restricted by time or space. He is All-Seeing, and therefore, is aware of the suffering of our brothers and sisters…

…and our complete inaction in the face of that suffering.

Do you not think God will ask us about His beloved people?

Do you not think that He will demand why we abandoned them for our own temporary luxuries?

What will be your answer to Him on the Day of Judgement?

The least we can do to protect OURSELVES on that terrifying day is to protect our brothers and sisters who are in need with whatever is in our capacity.

The spark that ignited our organization started in 2009 when a group of friends set out on a charity deployment. They witnessed first-hand the inhumane condition of those suffering over a period of 23 days.

Acknowledging the fact that millions more people lived like this all across the world, Global Relief Trust (GRT) was born.

From humble beginnings, GRT has helped millions of people around the world through food distribution, safe water projects, construction of homes, schools, and medical centres and vulnerable children programmes..
