A Global Malnutrition Crisis

Every night, over 783 million people go to bed hungry—not by choice, but because they simply have no food.

This global malnutrition crisis isn’t just a statistic; it’s a silent emergency stealing lives, weakening communities, and trapping generations in poverty. From the war-torn streets of Palestine and Yemen to the underserved villages of South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa, the most vulnerable—especially children—are being hit the hardest.

Malnourished Rohingya refugees

An acutely malnourished Ugandan

🔹 Over 30 million children in the 15 worst-affected countries suffer from acute malnutrition.

🔹 149 million children under 5 are stunted (too short for their age) due to malnutrition.

🔹 45 million children are wasted (too thin for their height) due to malnutrition.
But together, we can create change, one meal at a time.

Malnutrition is more than just hunger — it robs a bright future

In many war-torn and poverty-stricken regions, malnutrition is more than just the absence of food — it is the silent thief of potential, robbing children of their ability to grow, learn, and thrive. Malnutrition is a preventable tragedy that:

🔹 Stunts physical development

🔹 Weakens the immune system

🔹 Damages brain development

🔹 Disrupts learning and education

🔹 Silences potential

🔹 Steals childhood

🔹 Weakens communities

🔹 Keeps generations trapped in poverty

🔹 Deepens inequality

Meal by meal, your compassion can be the light in their darkness, offering nourishment to those who have known far too much hardship.

Let’s come together to fill the empty plates of children suffering from malnutrition, to bring back the laughter and health that every child deserves. Your generosity is more than a donation—it’s a lifeline for their future.

“The long shadow of starvation is stalking the people of Gaza – along with disease, malnutrition and other health threats,” said UN Secretary-General António Guterres.

Earn the Rewards of Feeding Others in Dhul Hijjah

The first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are among the most beloved days to Allah — days when every good deed is multiplied, and every act of kindness brings immense reward.

What better way to honour these sacred days than by feeding someone who is hungry?

While we enjoy warm meals and prepare for Eid, millions of our brothers and sisters are struggling just to survive. In places like Yemen, Gaza, and parts of sub-Saharan Africa, children go to bed on empty stomachs, unsure when their next meal will come.

But your generosity can change that.

For the price of one meal out, you can provide a struggling family with nutritious food for two weeks. And you can earn the reward of feeding a person during the best 10 days of the year.

“There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”
The Prophet’s companions asked: “Not even Jihad for the sake of Allah?”

He replied: “Not even Jihad, except a man who goes out with his life and wealth and returns with neither.” (Bukhari 969)

We Can Deliver Aid in a Matter of Hours…

Our team is on the ground in many war-torn and poverty-stricken regions, able to act quickly and deliver aid where it’s needed the most. Which is why we can be an ideal choice for you to send your donations.

Operating across multiple countries enables us to access your donations independently, bypassing the need for international partners. Free from these red-tape procedures, we are capable of delivering your aid within HOURS.

Our recent campaign is focused on providing immediate relief—we are distributing food, clean drinking water, medical kits, and other supplies necessary for survival.

But we can only do so much with limited resources.

We urgently need you to leverage YOUR financial power to uplift the people who are struggling to survive day by day.

Malnutrition is preventable!

The most heartbreaking fact is that malnutrition is preventable. While over 783 million people are affected by hunger, more than one trillion U.S. dollars worth of food is thrown away each year.

In one part of the world, fridges overflow with leftovers. A feast of hearty meals and indulgent desserts is just a food delivery app away. There’s always more than enough, and food wastage becomes the norm.

🔹 The average household wastes 81-88 kg of food per year, equivalent to 195 meals—this can feed someone three meals a day for over two months!

🔹 The annual global food wastage can feed nearly 3 billion people — almost enough to end global hunger.

But in another part of the world, the reality couldn’t be more different.

There is no clean water. No stocked pantry. No safety net.

Children search for scraps, sometimes eating what animals eat — leaves, grass, or whatever they can find to quiet the ache.

A single meal can feel like a miracle. Sleeping on an empty stomach? It’s normal.

Hunger isn’t a passing feeling — it’s a constant companion, a weight that crushes dreams before they even begin.

This isn’t a tragedy of scarcity — it’s a tragedy of injustice. Because while malnutrition devastates millions, we do have enough to feed, heal, and change lives.

We have enough food to give. Enough blessings to share. Enough compassion to help those in need.

What we need now is the will to act.

Do you not think God will ask: What did you do when My servants were hungry, and you had plenty?

What answer will you give on the Day when every deed is laid bare?

The least we can do to protect OURSELVES on that terrifying day is to protect our brothers and sisters who are in need with whatever is within our capacity.

How Do I Know My Donation Is Making An Impact?

We have been in service for the past FIFTEEN years…

In addition, in 2022 alone, we successfully served 1 million beneficiaries, proving our capacity to deliver huge amounts of aid to those in need.

Don’t Delay Your Donation…

Every second counts in the fight against global hunger and malnutrition. Right now, over 783 million people worldwide face challenges such as hunger, lack of clean water, inadequate healthcare, displacement, and homelessness.

That’s about one in every nine persons on Earth whose basic needs are not met.

Children are especially vulnerable, with poor nutrition causing nearly half of deaths in kids under five – that’s 3.1 million children each year.

Your immediate action can change these grim statistics. Imagine the difference your contribution could make. Could it provide essential meals for a hungry child? Could it ensure a family stays warm during the winter? Could it provide medical care to someone who is fighting to live?

The time to help is now. With your support, we can reduce these numbers, one helping hand at a time. Let’s bring hope and care to those in desperate need.

About Global Relief Trust

The spark that ignited our organization started in 2009 when a group of friends set out on a charity deployment. They witnessed first-hand the inhumane condition of those suffering over a period of 23 days.

Acknowledging the fact that millions more people lived like this all across the world, Global Relief Trust (GRT) was born.

From humble beginnings, GRT has helped millions of people around the world through food distribution, safe water projects, construction of homes, schools, and medical centres and vulnerable children programmes.. We operate in Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan,  Palestine, Yemen, Lebanon, Kashmir, Malawi, Tanzania, and the Rohingya refugees.

Joining the GRT family through monthly direct debits, no matter how small, enables us to provide lifesaving support to those who need it most.
